In typical cross country weather, The Granville travelled to Hilden Grange for the yearly event.
This was only the Year 3’s second competition and there were a few nerves before the race but also much excitement.
The team got off to a great start, the plan of getting off the start line as quickly as possible definitely worked! All five runners were in the leading pack. As the team travelled round the 1.2km course the Granville runners were altogether working as a team. We had some fantastic results, all finishing in the top twenty out of 56 runners.

The team were clear winners for overall school, beating the second place team by a huge eleven points!
In the Year 4 race our girls had a great start. Emma gradually moved away with another two runners and there was a very closely fought race between them all the way around. In the closing stages Emma was pipped to second place, finishing third. The rest of the team ran really well in horrible conditions with 55 runners taking part.

There was only a few points separating the top three schools, unfortunately our score of 55 was not good enough to win but finishing third was a great result. The second place school score 53 and the winners score 50.
