On Monday 20 March, visiting author Valerie Bloom shared an array of performance poetry with the school. One of her many ‘performances’ included a song, Pinda Cake about the Jamaican peanut cake. She told the girls how when she was younger, she and her friends would run to the school gates when they heard other children selling their wares. Valerie Bloom sang this simple folk melody to us and with the help of Year 5, we created our own version and interpretation of the song. Mr. Granger created a backing, and we then recorded the vocal parts and body percussion over the top. We hope you enjoy it!
