Supporting charities and fundraising plays an important part in the life of The Granville. From an early age, we teach our pupils that every one of us can make a real difference to the lives of others. Everyone is encouraged to participate in projects for the benefit of others and to raise money to help those less fortunate than they are.
The Granville’s commitment to fundraising and raising awareness of those less fortunate is closely linked to our PSHCE curriculum. We believe this is an intrinsic part of each child’s educational development and enables them to play a more developed role within the wider community.
Charities supported by pupils, staff and parents in the last few years include:-
NSPCC, Hope Refugee School on Jordan, The British Royal Legion, World Vision, Kent Air Ambulance, Hospice in the Weald, Think Twice, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, The Kusasa Project, Valence School, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Royal British Legion, British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Red Nose Day Appeal, Demelza House, Children in Need, Pembury Hospital Hedgehog Appeal, Diabetes UK, J.E.T., Haller Foundation, Meningitis Trust, Haiti Appeal, Alice Project, Whizz Kidz, Penshurst Church Roof Appeal, Samaritans Purse – Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, Sevenoaks District Council Christmas Light Appeal, Disaster Emergency Committee Typhoon Appeal.
