The Granville School is situated on a private and leafy site, within a 5 minute walk of Sevenoaks Station. Being so centrally situated for Sevenoaks town, we benefit from a wealth of our own facilities alongside the local attractions such as Knole Park, Hollybush Recreation Ground and Sevenoaks Leisure Centre.
Our well-maintained, attractive grounds offer excellent sports facilities including: three multi-purpose courts, indoor swimming pool, indoor sports hall and field for athletics and summer sports. Our Forest School has the advantage of two outdoor classroom areas in our woodlands and all girls enjoy the varied use of three separate playground spaces.
Our classrooms are spacious, light and well-equipped.
Other facilities include: two well-stocked libraries, Music Block with individual practice rooms, on-site School Shop, Drama studio, Music studio, ICT Suite, Art/Design Room and Dining Room with on-site catering facilities.
The governors are constantly assessing the buildings and land which we own in order to ensure that our pupils enjoy a high quality environment in which they can flourish.
The Main Building
The Main Building houses our Year 5 and Year 6 Classrooms, the School Office, Science Laboratory, the Senior Library and offices. The building has been extended many times to enhance the facilities for our pupils. This includes our School Hall, the Music Studio, Indoor Swimming Pool and Dining Hall. The latter two were part of the New Building development, which was completed in 1994 and formally opened by the Vicountess De L’Isle.
The Ena Makin Building
The Ena Makin building was opened in September 2006. It is a modern and spacious building with light, airy and colourful classrooms. It accommodates our Year 1 to 3 classes and ICT Suite. There is also an impressive and well stocked Junior Library. Every class is self-contained with its own cloakroom facilities and has modern technology and resources. The building has two outdoor areas where the children can play with a wealth of outdoor equipment.
The Maureen Froggatt Building
The Maureen Froggatt building was completed in September 2007 and has enabled the school to provide the children with improved learning conditions in various areas of the curriculum. This building houses the Year 4 classes in large and spacious classroms.
Evans Lodge
Evans Lodge was opened in January 2014 and houses our Early Year classes (Pre-School and Reception). Upstairs is a purpose-built Art/Design and Technology room where the children can experience a wide range of activities using a variety of materials. Many art techniques are taught together with other activities such as food technology, pottery and woodwork.
Swimming Pool
Our indoor swimming pool is open year-round. Swimming is taught here to pupils from Pre-School to Year 3. The shallow depth and warm water is perfect for developing water confidence and early swimming skills. Once that is mastered, the children can perfect their swimming strokes across the width and length of the pool. Older girls swim at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre.
The Gate House houses our School Shop where parents can purchase both new and second-hand uniform and equipment. It also comprises our Music Block with 3 individual music practice rooms.
